使い方(3段階学習法) How to Use This Dictionary
この辞典は、すべてのページが日本語と英語の両方で書かれています。画面右上の切替ボタン(対訳・日本語・English)を学習の段階に合わせて進めていく——同じ記事を3回、違う読み方で使うのが、この辞典の想定する使い方です。このページ自体も切り替わるので、ボタンで試しながら読んでください。
Every page of this dictionary is written twice: once in Japanese, once in English. The language switch in the top corner (対訳 / 日本語 / English) is the method itself. The same article serves three stages of learning, and this very page responds to the switch, so try the buttons as you read.
段階1「対訳」——まず日本語で理解する
Stage 1, Both: Understand It in Japanese
最初は「対訳」のまま読みます。文法の理屈は日本語の解説で理解してください。すぐ下に並ぶ英語の解説は、この段階では「同じ内容を英語で言うとこうなる」という見本です。意味の分かっている文章なので、英語のほうも眺めるだけで頭に入ります。
Start with both languages showing. Let the Japanese carry the explanation, and treat the English below it as a worked example: the same idea, said in English. Since you already know what it means, the English side almost reads itself.
段階2「日本語」——例文を自力で読む
Stage 2, Japanese: Read the Examples Yourself
2周目は「日本語」に切り替えます。英語の解説は消えますが、例文とコロケーションの英語は残ります。ここを消したら英文法辞典ではなくなるので、消えない設計にしてあります。日本語の解説を頼りに、例文の英語を自分の力で読む段階です。
On the second pass, switch to Japanese-only. The English explanations disappear, but the example sentences and collocations stay in English, by design: remove those and this stops being a grammar dictionary. Now the Japanese explains, and you do the reading, one example at a time.
段階3「English」——解説そのものを多読する
Stage 3, English: The Explanations Become Your Reading
仕上げは「English」。解説も英語だけで読みます。一度日本語で理解した内容だから、知らない単語があっても話の筋は追えます。この辞典の解説英文は、そのまま多読教材になるつもりで書いてあります。分からなくなったら、いつでも「対訳」に戻ってください。
The last stage is English-only, explanations included. You have already understood every article once, so the thread stays visible even when a word does not. The English side of this dictionary was written to serve as extensive-reading material in its own right. And whenever you get lost, the 対訳 button brings the Japanese straight back.
コツ Tip
3周は辞典全体を通してやる必要はありません。エントリ1件ずつで構いませんし、順番も自由です。切替の選択は保存されるので、次に開いたページも同じ表示で始まります。ボタンはスクロール中、画面の右下に出ます。
You need not run the three stages across the whole dictionary. One entry at a time is fine, in any order. Your choice is remembered, so the next page opens the same way, and while you scroll, the switch waits in the bottom corner of the screen.
