現代英語で shall が生きている場面は狭い: ① Shall we ...?(〜しましょうか。主にイギリス)② 契約書・法律文の義務。日常の未来は will 一択で、「一人称の未来は shall」という教科書の規則は過去のものです。
Shall survives in only a few habitats today: (1) Shall we …? for suggestions — mainly British; (2) legal contracts, where it marks obligation. For everyday futures, will won long ago. The old schoolbook rule — "shall for the first person" — is history.

よくある間違い Common Mistake
I shall go shopping tomorrow.
明日は買い物に行く。(ふつうの予定のつもりで)
I'm going shopping tomorrow.
明日は買い物に行く。
現代の日常会話で I shall は芝居がかって聞こえます(マッカーサーの I shall return. が名言として残っているくらいの重さです)。ふつうの予定は現在進行形か will で。
In modern conversation, I shall sounds theatrical — it carries the weight of MacArthur's "I shall return." For ordinary plans, use the present continuous or will.
- Shall we? (単独で)行こうか/始めようか 動詞まで省略した提案の最短形。ダンスや出発の場面の粋な一言。 The suggestion trimmed to two words — debonair at doorways and dance floors.
- shall we say たとえば・そうですね… 数字や言い方を仮置きする前置き。Shall we say, ten o'clock?(では10時ということで) Floats a tentative figure: Shall we say, ten o'clock?
