ふつうの語順では、so は名詞のかたまりの中に入れません(文語の so beautiful a day という型は別枠)。名詞ごと強調したいときは、such を a の前に立てます。「a so ...」の形が出てきたら、such a に組み替える——これがこのペアの定番修理です。
In ordinary word order, so can't ride inside a noun package (the literary so beautiful a day pattern is a separate, formal creature). To intensify the whole package, post such in front of the article. Whenever "a so …" appears, rebuild it as such a — the standard repair for this pair.
