Would you like something to drink? makes an offer on the assumption there's something there. Is there anything I can do? is genuinely open. There's nothing in the fridge. — zero. The assumed / open / zero triad from some vs. any extends unchanged to people (-one, -body) and places (-where).

食べ物はある前提= something。Food assumed to exist — something.
nothing 自体が否定。動詞は肯定形のまま。Nothing carries the negation — the verb stays positive.

形容詞は後ろ。-thing 系の専用語順。Adjective after — the special word order of the -thing family.

よくある間違い / Common Mistake
×I don't know nothing about it.
それについては何も知らない。(のつもりで)
○I don't know anything about it.
それについては何も知らない。
標準英語では否定はひとつの節にひとつ。nothing 自体が否定なので、don't と重ねると二重否定になります。「何も知らない」は don't ... anything か、I know nothing(don't なし)のどちらか。なお二重否定は一部の方言や歌詞には実在しますが(I can't get no satisfaction)、標準の書き言葉では避けます。
Standard English allows one negative per clause. Nothing is already negative, so stacking it on don't double-negates. Say don't … anything, or drop the don't: I know nothing. (Double negatives do live in some dialects and song lyrics — I can't get no satisfaction — but standard writing steers clear.)
