Prepositions

out of は in ので、まれていたからです。get out of the car はというからること。ここから out of order(かられて)、out of stock(かられて)、run out of(使る)までがります。も、ひとつのとしてえられています。

Out of is the opposite of in: coming from inside something that enclosed you. "Get out of the car" means leaving the container the car makes. From there we get out of order, meaning outside the state of working properly, out of stock, meaning the supply has run dry, and run out of, meaning the contents are used up. Abstract states get treated as containers too.

The starting point is leaving a physical container. From there, English came to treat states as containers as well: the state of working properly, of having stock, of being under control. Each is a box you can be inside, and leaving it takes out of. That's how out of order comes to mean broken and out of control comes to mean unmanageable.
